Rummy Monk ("we", "us") is a single-player card game available on the web at rummymonk.com and as a mobile app. We care about your privacy and keep data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the game. This policy explains what we collect and why.

The short version

No account, login, or sign-up. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal details.
No ads and no in-app purchases.
We use Google Analytics to understand anonymous, aggregate usage (how many people play, on which platform).
We do not sell your data, and we don't use it to track you across other apps or websites.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information that identifies you. Through Google Analytics 4, we collect limited, pseudonymous data:

Usage data — interactions such as starting a game, finishing a round or game, using the hint, and which game mode and difficulty were chosen.
A pseudonymous identifier — Google Analytics stores a random client identifier on your device so it can count unique players and sessions. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
Approximate location — derived at the city/country level from your IP address by Google Analytics. We do not collect precise/GPS location.
Device & technical info — such as device type, operating system, and platform (web, iOS, or Android).

How we use it

Solely for analytics — to see how many people play, on which platforms, and which features are used, so we can improve the game. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with data brokers.

Analytics & cookies

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC. Google may set cookies or use similar on-device storage to provide this service. Google's handling of data is described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics in your browser using the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, or by blocking analytics with your browser/privacy settings.

Data stored on your device

Your preferences (difficulty, sound on/off, whether you've seen the tutorial) are saved in your browser/app local storage on your device only. They are never transmitted to us and you can clear them at any time by clearing the app/site data.

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. The only third party that processes data from the game is Google Analytics, acting as our analytics provider as described above.

Children's privacy

Rummy Monk is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. There is no real-money play, gambling, or wagering in the game.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period according to our Google Analytics configuration and Google's policies. We do not maintain any separate database of users.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
